View original imageAccording to the '2025 Digital Sex Crime Victim Support Report' published this year by the Korea Women's Human Rights Institute, teenagers and people in their twenties make up 77.6% of all digital sex crime victims. As digital sex crimes become increasingly sophisticated, such as the misuse of generative AI to create deepfake videos, online grooming, and sexual harassment in group chat rooms, the age of victims is also trending younger.
In response, Seongdong-gu will provide education on June 22 and June 26 to approximately 140 fourth-grade students at Geumok Elementary School and Haenghyeon Elementary School. Under the theme 'Set Your Digital Boundaries! Another Me Inside the Smartphone,' the program will cover understanding the concept of sex crimes, the importance of boundaries and consent, personal information protection, types of digital sex crimes, and case-based response training. Professional instructors will visit the schools in person and conduct the sessions using an interactive method that combines lectures and participatory activities.
In particular, the program will focus on real-life risk situations such as deepfakes and online grooming, training students on the three-step response method of 'Stop, Save, and Speak,' and will also include a 'Digital Citizen Declaration' activity.
