Boosting Tourism in Population-Declining Regions Expected
Coupang announced on June 14 that it will participate in the "2026 Korea Summer Accommodation Sale Festa" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, supporting efforts to boost tourism in non-metropolitan regions.
This event is designed to lower travel costs for citizens and promote regional tourism by utilizing the government's Tourism Promotion and Development Fund. Until July 31, Coupang will offer over 6,200 accommodation products such as hotels, resorts, and pensions in 85 population-declining local governments across Korea, excluding Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province.
During the event, customers can use government-supported discount coupons to receive a 30,000 won discount when booking accommodation products priced at 70,000 won or more, and a 20,000 won discount for products priced between 20,000 won and less than 70,000 won. Customers booking two nights or more will be eligible for up to 70,000 won in discounts, depending on the total payment amount.
WOW members can receive up to an additional 52% discount on select products, as well as up to 70,000 won in overlapping discounts.
Featured accommodation options include Kumho Resort Hwasun Spa, Ocean to You Resort Sokcho Seorak Beach Hotel & Condo, Osaek Greenyard Hotel, as well as Wyndham Gangwon Goseong, Stanford Hotel Andong, and Resom Resort.
