Kim Mia Secures 3.15 Billion Won for Mujeong and Inji Elementary School Gymnasium Renovations in Banyeo-dong
Kim Mia, a member of the People Power Party representing Haeundae-gu B in Busan, has secured special government funding for the renovation of elementary school gymnasiums in her district.
On June 12, Assemblywoman Kim announced that she had secured 3,155 million won in special grants from the Ministry of Education for the renovation of the multipurpose auditoriums (gymnasiums) at Mujeong Elementary School and Inji Elementary School, both located in Banyeo-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan. The grants are allocated as follows: 1,654 million won for Mujeong Elementary School and 1,501 million won for Inji Elementary School.

View original imageBoth elementary schools in Kim’s constituency have been in operation for over 20 years, and there have been ongoing concerns about the aging condition of their facilities. Once the gymnasium facilities are improved, they are expected to serve not only students but also local residents as enhanced spaces for community sports and activities.
With this special grant, the two schools will carry out comprehensive renovations, including repairs to the interior walls and floors of the gyms, replacement of old windows and doors, and upgrades to equipment and electrical systems.
The project is scheduled to proceed on the condition that the additional supplementary budget for the first half of this year is approved, with design services to be commissioned in July, completion of the design by October, construction starting in December, and project completion expected by March 2027.

Assemblywoman Kim stated, "Schools are the most important spaces for nurturing future generations, so improving the educational environment is a task that cannot be postponed. I will continue to thoroughly examine outdated facilities in Haeundae’s schools and secure all necessary funding to improve the educational environment."
