KB Kookmin Bank to Adjust Maximum Credit Loan Limit to 100 Million Won Starting June 16
Overdraft Account Limit Capped at 50 Million Won
Proactive Response to the Recent Surge in Household Loans
KB Kookmin Bank will limit the maximum amount for general unsecured loans to 100 million won starting from June 16.
KB Kookmin Bank announced on June 12 that it will adjust the credit loan limit in this manner. The bank explained that this measure is a proactive response to the recent increase in household loans and aims to ensure stable loan management. According to the "May Household Loan Trends" report released by the Financial Supervisory Service the previous day, household loans across all financial sectors increased by 9.3 trillion won last month compared to the previous month. This figure is about three times higher than the increase recorded in April (3.5 trillion won).
As a result, the maximum limit for general unsecured loans will be set at 100 million won, while the maximum limit for overdraft accounts (minus accounts) will be restricted to 50 million won. This measure will be applied temporarily until further notice. However, certain products such as inclusive finance products and policy-based loans will be subject to separate criteria.
