The promotion ceremony was attended by Um Jingyeong, Head of Planning and Operations, as well as various team and department leaders of Changwon Maritime Police, who congratulated Jang Yeju on her promotion.
Wearing her new honorary sergeant rank, Jang Yeju immediately focused on creating maritime safety promotional content aimed at encouraging fishing boat crew members and anglers to regularly wear life jackets.
This is to raise awareness of the strengthened requirements for wearing life jackets on fishing vessels, which will take effect on July 1, and to emphasize the importance of all passengers, including those on fishing boats, wearing life jackets.
In 2024, when she first became an honorary coast guard, her first activities included participating in an SOS signal transmission challenge and a life jacket-wearing campaign aboard fishing vessels and other boats.
With the increase in maritime activities during the summer, Changwon Maritime Police continues to run national participation maritime safety campaigns, including promoting the regular use of life jackets, preventing coastal accidents, and adhering to water leisure safety rules.
Jang Yeju said, "I am grateful to serve as an honorary maritime police officer at Changwon Maritime Police Station, protecting the sea of my hometown Changwon. Now that I have been promoted to honorary sergeant, I will be even more responsible and proactive in spreading maritime safety culture and promoting the maritime police."
