Netflix to Release New Series 'Donggung' on July 17 Starring Nam Joohyuk and Cho Seungwoo
On June 12, Netflix, the online video service (OTT) platform, announced that it will release its new original series 'Donggung' on July 17.
'Donggung' tells the story of Gucheon (played by Nam Joohyuk), who possesses the ability to cross between the world of spirits, and Saenggang (played by Roh Yoonseo), a court lady harboring a secret. Together, under the king’s (played by Cho Seungwoo) orders, they unravel a curse haunting the royal palace.
The series is directed by Choi Jeonggyu, known for dramas such as 'The Devil Judge' and 'Children of Nobody,' while the screenplay was written by Kwon Sora and Seo Jaewon, who previously worked on 'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls' and 'The Guest (Son the guest).'
Netflix also released the poster that day. It features Gucheon entering a pond with the phrase, "Beyond the boundaries of reality, into the world of spirits."
