Former Assemblyman Koh Yong-jin Nominated as Secretary General of National Assembly for Latter Half of Term
Appointment to Be Finalized Through Plenary Session Vote
On June 12, National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik nominated former Assemblyman Koh Yong-jin as the new Secretary General of the National Assembly.
Born in Seoul, Koh graduated from the Department of Communication at Seoul National University and served as the 20th and 21st National Assembly member for Nowon-gap, Seoul. During his tenure as a lawmaker, he worked as secretary of the National Assembly Strategy and Finance Committee and as the chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party.
The Speaker's office stated, "The nominee, Mr. Koh, has experience in the legislative branch, executive branch, and local councils, giving him a deep understanding of the overall national administrative mechanism. He is considered the right person to stably lead the complex administrative organization of the National Assembly."

The appointment of Mr. Koh, which is at the ministerial level, will be finalized through approval by the National Assembly plenary session.
