Iranian Hormuz Authority: "Complete Closure of the Strait of Hormuz"
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), which was established by the Iranian government under the pretext of managing passage through the Strait of Hormuz, announced on June 11 (local time) that the strait would be closed indefinitely.
On this day, the PGSA posted on X, "Due to the heightened tensions caused by the aggressive actions of U.S. forces and the recent statement by the Iranian military, the Strait of Hormuz will be completely closed until further notice. Applicants who have been granted passage permits are asked to remain patient and await additional instructions from the PGSA."
Previously, the Iranian military had warned that "any vessel attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will become a target for gunfire" in response to U.S. airstrikes on Iran.
