The Airport AI Alliance is a global cooperative organization in the airport AI sector, involving major airports worldwide and global big tech companies. In March last year, Incheon International Airport Corporation became the first airport in Asia to officially join the AAA and has continued to collaborate since then.
This forum, held for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region, brought together around 40 AI innovation leaders from airports around the world. The forum featured in-depth discussions on key topics shaping the AI transformation of the aviation industry, including: ▲ Building AI governance and data ecosystems ▲ AI-based operational and passenger experience innovation ▲ AI talent strategies and organizational culture change ▲ Long-term technology roadmaps toward autonomous and intelligent airports.
At the event, the corporation shared examples of its achievements in AI adoption, introducing how Incheon Airport is evolving beyond a simple transportation infrastructure into a digital intelligent airport.
In particular, participants showed great interest in the blueprint for the Aviation AI Innovation Hub being promoted by the corporation. The Aviation AI Innovation Hub is an aviation-specialized AI ecosystem consisting of an AI data center, R&D center, and business center. It will serve as a platform where aviation and airport-related companies can carry out everything from the development and demonstration to commercialization of AI solutions in a one-stop process.
The facility is planned to be established near Terminal 2, covering approximately 23,000 square meters (about 7,000 pyeong). The corporation also aims to foster the "K-Aviation AI Export Platform" to support the global expansion of technologies and solutions developed at the hub.
