People Power Party Slams Election Commission... Jang: "Joint Investigation Team Must Conduct Search and Seizure," Shin: "Suspect Reckless Intent"
Jang Donghyuk Continues to Call for Nationwide Re-Election
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 11th, "It is difficult to predict how many problems will be revealed if a proper investigation into the National Election Commission is conducted," adding, "The joint investigation team of prosecutors and police must accelerate their investigation before any evidence can be destroyed or disappear."
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, is speaking at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 11th.

He said, "While the joint investigation team hesitated, evidence from polling stations across the country has disappeared," and emphasized, "The destruction of evidence must be stopped. A search and seizure must take place." He further stressed, "The National Assembly must launch a special prosecutor and a parliamentary investigation," and added, "Since evidence is disappearing at this very moment, the special prosecutor bill must be passed immediately."
Previously, on June 9, Jang caused controversy by holding a sign with the phrase "election fraud" at a rally in Jamsil Olympic Park. On this day as well, he continued to raise suspicions by highlighting several issues that occurred during the election process. He pointed out, "At Polling Station No. 2 in Songpa-gu, there were 1,700 ballot papers, but the number of voters was 1,733," and emphasized, "It is a mystery how 33 people were able to vote without ballot papers."
Jang also said, "Yesterday, there was a statement on the current political situation issued by 18 universities nationwide," and stressed, "Young people are enraged at being deprived of their right to vote." He added, "Politics must provide answers to the public's anger," and asserted, "If serious problems are found, the election is invalid and a nationwide re-election must be held." He also warned, "Even if overall incompetence is revealed, it will be difficult to hold a re-election at that point," and concluded, "We will uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable."
Supreme Council member Shin Dongwook also supported Jang's claims at the meeting, saying, "Citizens who were calling for a re-election have now started talking about election fraud." Shin continued, "We have been reluctant to even mention the word 'election fraud' for fear of being trapped by the narrative," but added, "Now citizens themselves are bringing up the issue. Many of these citizens are not acting out of partisanship but out of a desire to maintain order."

Shin further stated, "What is the difference between an incompetent election and a fraudulent election?" and questioned, "Can we help but suspect reckless intent, even if the election results are distorted?" He added, "I do not believe the truth will be uncovered through a parliamentary investigation," and reasoned, "It is highly likely that the dispute between the ruling and opposition parties will just conclude that most of the problems were due to administrative mistakes." He then asked, "In that case, who will guarantee trust in South Korea going forward?"
