The unprecedented event featured a billionaire couple from China, who managed to secure the location after an extended period of preparation and by leveraging their tremendous wealth.

According to local media, including France’s Madame Figaro, on June 8 (local time), the couple who recently held their wedding at Mont Saint-Michel Abbey are Chinese model Ming Xi and entrepreneur Mario Ho. Mario Ho is known as the son of Stanley Ho, who was once dubbed the “casino king.”
The couple had already registered their marriage in 2019 and, after seven years, held a religious wedding ceremony at Mont Saint-Michel Abbey. In an interview with Vogue, Ming Xi stated, “This was the first time a wedding has ever been held at Mont Saint-Michel Abbey.”
On the day of the event, the bride changed into five different dresses, creating a dazzling spectacle, and wore high-end jewelry totaling 200 carats, making the entire wedding the subject of considerable attention.

The couple reportedly exerted great effort, backed by immense financial resources, to obtain numerous permits required for holding a private event at the abbey. According to Vogue, the preparations took a full year, supported by Mont Saint-Michel staff and the French National Monuments Center. Ming Xi said, “Because this was unprecedented, we needed many approvals, but thanks to everyone involved, the process was enjoyable and efficient.”
Mont Saint-Michel Abbey is a medieval structure built atop a rocky islet off the coast of Normandy in northwestern France. It is recognized both as a Catholic pilgrimage site and as a major tourist attraction, renowned for its unique landscape where the island connects to the mainland depending on the tides.
