The Ministry of Strategy and Finance will fully introduce artificial intelligence (AI) throughout the entire process of its work, from budget formulation to mid- and long-term strategy development.
On June 11, the ministry announced that it will implement "AI-ON," an AI-based work innovation initiative, to enhance work efficiency.

First, the ministry plans to introduce a total of five core AI services across three major sectors: fiscal strategy and performance management, budget formulation and execution, and administrative work.
In the first phase, work materials scattered across individual PCs and messengers within the ministry will be integrated into a central repository to establish the "Strategy and Finance Chronicle."
In the second phase, the integrated materials will be transformed into a format that AI can immediately learn from and utilize, thereby building an advanced, ministry-specific knowledge database. In addition, by connecting to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s government-wide generative AI model, a data platform will be established to process data securely in an optimal environment.
In the third phase, based on the Strategy and Finance Chronicle and the data platform, the five key AI services will be introduced in earnest. From December of this year, the ministry will sequentially roll out the "AI Budget Assistant" to support budget formulation, "MacroView" for automatic extraction and analysis of macroeconomic statistics, "Expenditure Magnifier" to provide information on projects targeted for expenditure efficiency, "BillScan" for monitoring legislative bills, and "Smart Report" to assist in drafting report templates.
AI Work Innovation Task Force Launches... Establishing a Learning Organization
Second, to ensure that all staff can use AI as skillfully as a calculator, the ministry will operate both online and offline training programs and establish ongoing AI learning organizations such as brown bag meetings and study groups, with the goal of cultivating all employees as AI innovation leaders.
Third, the ministry will establish a "participatory AI dissemination model" in which practice-oriented education and voluntary competency development lead to knowledge sharing and real-world verification. An "AI Knowledge Lounge" bulletin board will be set up to share employees’ AI usage know-how (such as prompts) and AI agents developed in-house, shifting away from the passive use of externally developed programs and fostering an environment in which employees independently develop their own AI tools.
