KOSPI Drops Over 3% in Early Trading... KOSDAQ Also Extends Losses
The KOSPI dropped more than 3% in early trading. The KOSDAQ also widened its losses.

As military tensions between the United States and Iran escalated again, the New York Stock Exchange collectively closed lower, and the domestic KOSPI also began with a drop of more than 2%. By sector, all sectors except paper & wood (+0.12%) were in decline. Stock prices fell the most in securities (-6.57%), metals (-5.63%), transportation equipment & parts (-5.19%), and machinery & equipment (-4.86%).
Among the top 20 stocks by market capitalization, all sectors were declining. SK Square (-7.27%), SK (-6.74%), Doosan Enerbility (-6.04%), and Hyundai Motor Company (-5.98%) posted the largest drops.
The KOSDAQ index stood at 929.33, down 22.30 points (2.34%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreign investors net sold 48 billion won, while individual investors and institutions net bought 48.6 billion won and 300 million won, respectively.
By sector, all stocks except publishing & media reproduction (+5.46%) and paper & wood (+0.47%) were declining. Financials (-4.58%), general services (-3.64%), medical precision instruments (-3.19%), and machinery & equipment (-3.15%) posted the largest losses.
Among the top 20 stocks by market capitalization, all except Simmtech (+8.22%), Wonik IPS (+2.91%), and EO Technics (+2.28%) saw their stock prices decline. Shares of Rainbow Robotics (-6.86%), Jusung Engineering (-6.83%), LIG ChemBio (-5.65%), and Ecopro (-5.57%) fell sharply.
