i-SENS’s Continuous Glucose Monitor Listed for Belgium Public Insurance
i-SENS’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device, “CareSens Air,” has been included in the list of diabetes convention reimbursed devices by Belgium’s National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (INAMI).
According to i-SENS on June 11, the diabetes convention is a management program operated based on agreements signed between INAMI and hospitals. Hospitals recognized as diabetes convention centers receive comprehensive budget support from INAMI and provide diabetes management services—such as CGM devices—to registered patients. Through this inclusion, CareSens Air has been officially recognized as a reimbursable device within the Belgian insurance channel, establishing a practical foundation for sales in Belgium.
In the first quarter of this year, i-SENS recorded CGM sales of approximately 8.4 billion won, marking a 172% increase from the same period last year and achieving the company’s highest-ever quarterly result. Following its additional listing under public health insurance in Germany (GKV) and the UK (NHS) this April, the completion of the Belgian listing has further expanded the scope of countries in Europe offering insurance reimbursement, providing additional growth momentum for overseas CGM sales.
i-SENS is continuing to pursue insurance reimbursement listings in major countries and plans to launch in more than nine new countries this year, accelerating the global expansion of its CGM business. Including the recent listing in Belgium, CareSens Air is now reimbursed in ten countries: South Korea, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Israel, Germany, and Belgium.
