Suwon Hwaseong Heritage Concert to Be Held at Hwaseong Haenggung Palace Square on the 13th

A concert blending classical, Korean traditional, and popular music will take place on an early summer night, set against the beautiful evening backdrop of Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will host the "2026 Suwon Hwaseong Heritage Concert" on June 13 at 7:30 p.m., on a special stage at the Suwon Hwaseong Haenggung Palace Square.

The Suwon Hwaseong Heritage Concert, held with Suwon Hwaseong as its backdrop, aims to widely promote the historical and cultural value of the UNESCO World Heritage site. It also offers citizens and tourists the opportunity to enjoy high-quality cultural and artistic performances.

This year’s concert will feature a diverse lineup of musicians and artists. The event will open with a grand performance by the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Principal Conductor Choi Heejun, followed by a collaboration between Korea’s leading harmonica player Park Jongseong and the orchestra.

The dynamic stage will continue with performances by Pansori singer Nam Sangil and the Kim Sora Collective, a group of traditional performing artists. The "national rock band" YB, and acclaimed vocalist Lena Park will also take the stage and engage with the audience.

This concert, which brings together traditional and modern, as well as Eastern and Western music, will offer an elegant stage befitting the name "Heritage."

A Suwon city official stated, "We hope everyone fully enjoys this musical feast by top-tier artists as you take in the atmosphere of Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Heritage site," and added, "We hope the Suwon Hwaseong Heritage Concert will help showcase the charm of Suwon to a wider audience."
