Ministry Selects Services for 'Digital Service Opening'
Twenty-One Everyday Public Services to Be Provided via APIs
Twenty-one types of public services, including mobile health insurance card issuance and workers’ compensation insurance claim services, will become accessible via private platforms such as KakaoTalk.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on June 10, 2026, that it has selected 21 new services for the "2026 Digital Service Opening." The Digital Service Opening initiative provides public services in the form of APIs, enabling citizens to conveniently access them through frequently used private applications.

For the newly selected services, the Ministry plans to hold a public call for private companies, select participating firms, and collaborate with private platforms to ensure that public services can be accessed easily and conveniently.
The new services cover high-demand areas relevant to both daily life and business activities, including health and medical care, employment and workers' compensation insurance, reservation of performances, sports, and facilities, as well as qualification verification.
This year’s selection includes: the National Health Insurance Service’s "Mobile Health Insurance Card Issuance and Inquiry"; the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service’s "All My Medications at a Glance"; the Korea Workers’ Compensation & Welfare Service’s "Electronic Claim Service for Out-of-Pocket Treatment Costs for Workers’ Compensation"; the National Gugak Center’s "Traditional Music Performance Reservation"; the Korea Forest Service’s "Hiking and Trekking Reservation and Management"; and the Korea Veterans Welfare & Healthcare Corporation’s "National Meritorious Person Qualification Inquiry System," among others.
Going forward, the Ministry plans to further expand the Digital Service Opening initiative, while also establishing standardized APIs and system integration infrastructure to accommodate artificial intelligence (AI) services.
