Incheon to Host "Grand Festival of Museums and Art Galleries" in Bupyeong on the 13th with 11 Venues Participating
The 17th "Grand Festival of Museums and Art Galleries with Incheon Citizens" will be held on June 13 at the outdoor plaza and museum park of Bupyeong History Museum.
Hosted and organized by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Museum Association, and sponsored by Bupyeong History Museum, the event will feature participation from 11 public and private museums and art galleries in the region, each presenting unique and creative cultural content distinctive to their institutions.
This year, the event moves beyond the traditional focus on exhibitions to offer hands-on programs that allow citizens to experience and interact directly. A variety of customized experience kits, designed to reflect the identity of each participating institution, have been prepared, and are expected to be popular among families visiting for weekend outings.
Highlights among the experiential programs include: "Planting Medicinal Herbs for Health" by Gachon Museum; "How Do We Get to the Moon? Pop-up Book Making" by Oktokki Space Center; "Making a Mood Lamp of Gyeyang Fortress with Light" by Gyeyang Fortress Museum; and "Ring the Bell! Doorbell Making" by Beompae Folk Culture Museum. In addition, various other museums such as Haedeun Museum, Jaeminan Museum, and Sorae History Museum will operate a total of 11 culture experience booths, each with its own unique charm.
The festival will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening performance and continue until 5 p.m. on the same day.
