He continued, "From the upcoming negotiations on the formation of the National Assembly, I will approach the tasks decisively and thoroughly," and stressed, "I will make the People Power Party a party that lives up to the people's expectations and one that its members can be proud of."
After his election, Floor Leader Jeong met with reporters and, regarding the direction of appointments within the party, said, "The appointments that the floor leader can be involved in are limited to the deputy floor leaders and standing committee secretaries," adding, "I will ensure that even those who are classified as belonging to other factions from outside the party can also participate in the management of the parliamentary group."
Regarding concerns raised in some quarters that the election of Floor Leader Jeong, who has served as the party's policy chief in the current leadership, might signal a return to a pro-Yoon faction, he said, "I take such criticism to heart." He added, "While I believe that a pro-Yoon faction without a leader does not exist, I am well aware that it may be perceived that way from the outside," and continued, "I will actively express opinions during the management of the parliamentary group to dispel such concerns."
