Inspired by their maternal grandfather, a Vietnam War veteran, the two sisters were commissioned as Army non-commissioned officers together in 2020. Currently, Sergeant Moonjung Kim serves as an administrative NCO in the Cheongpo Battalion of the Army's 5th Armored Brigade, managing personnel and administrative affairs for her unit. Sergeant Munso Kim is responsible for logistical support in the forward area, serving as a supply control NCO in the 2nd Supply Control of the Army's 12th Division Ssangyong Brigade Service Support Battalion.
The third sibling, Sergeant Taehee Kim, who loves the sky and the sea, was commissioned as a Navy non-commissioned officer in 2022. She currently serves as an air traffic controller in the 622nd Squadron of the Navy Air Command. The youngest, Corporal Junwon Kim, inspired by his sisters’ confident example, dreamed of following in their footsteps and was commissioned as an Air Force non-commissioned officer in 2024. He is currently fulfilling his duties as a wireless communication systems technician in the Information and Communications Battalion of the Air Force’s 3rd Training Wing.

When the family gathers at home during traditional holidays, they naturally share stories about their military experiences. Corporal Junwon Kim said, "Whenever I face concerns or difficult moments, I receive a lot of advice from my sisters, who are senior service members, and it has helped me adapt more quickly to military life than others. Going forward, I am determined to do my best in my assigned duties, together with my sisters, to protect the Republic of Korea as a family."
