The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency and the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee, in cooperation with relevant organizations, conducted an intensive crackdown on vehicles with outstanding traffic fines at the Yudeok Tollgate on the Second Loop Road. The authorities focused on on-site collection from vehicles with large or habitual arrears, and took strong administrative measures, such as the immediate seizure of license plates, against those who did not comply.
On June 9, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency and the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee announced that, together with related agencies, they had carried out a focused crackdown on vehicles with overdue traffic fines around the Yudeok Tollgate on the Second Loop Road.

View original imageThe joint operation, conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the same day, targeted vehicles with long-term outstanding traffic fines—specifically those with unpaid amounts of 300,000 won or more, or vehicles that had been under seizure for over 60 days due to habitual speeding and signal violations.
The enforcement team primarily urged the owners of vehicles caught on site to immediately pay their overdue fines. For vehicles whose owners refused or failed to pay on the spot, strong enforcement was applied, including the immediate seizure of license plates.
An official from the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency explained, "Through this joint operation, we detected a significant number of vehicles that continued to operate on the roads without paying traffic fines for an extended period, and achieved tangible collection results."
