'Mounjaro,' Obesity Treatment, to Launch 15mg High-Dose Version in Korea Tomorrow
Supply of 12.5mg and 15mg Versions
High-dose versions of Mounjaro (active ingredient: tirzepatide), a treatment for diabetes and obesity, are set to launch in Korea.
According to the pharmaceutical industry on June 9, single-use prefilled pen versions of Mounjaro in 12.5mg and 15mg doses will be supplied in Korea starting the following day. Previously available doses included 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, and 10mg.

View original imageMounjaro has been approved in Korea as an adjunct to diet and exercise for improving blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes, managing weight in patients who are obese or overweight, and treating obstructive sleep apnea.
The company stated that in a clinical study involving adults with obesity, after 72 weeks, the average weight loss was 16% in the 5mg group, 21.4% in the 10mg group, and 22.5% in the 15mg group.
