Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Hosts Special Lecture by Egyptian Foreign Minister
Minister Badr Abdelatty Shares Insights on Diplomatic Issues
The Department of Arabic at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on June 9 that it had hosted a special lecture featuring Badr Abdelatty, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

View original imageOrganized in collaboration with the Embassy of Egypt in Korea and the Institute of Korean–Arab Cultural Education at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, this lecture was held under the theme "Egypt's Foreign Policy amid Critical Regional and Global Challenges" on June 2 at the International Conference Room on the Seoul Campus.
Prior to the lecture, Minister Abdelatty held a meeting with President Kang Kihoon, where they shared the university's achievements in foreign language and area studies education, as well as its record in nurturing global talent. Both sides also discussed ways to promote academic cooperation and educational exchanges with major Egyptian universities.
The event was attended by Hazem Fahmy, Ambassador of Egypt to Korea; Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Korea; Saud Hasan Ali Al Nusuf, Ambassador of Bahrain to Korea; Fahad bin Mohammed Barakah, Acting Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Korea and other Arab diplomatic envoys, as well as representatives from the Korea-Egypt Friendship Association and executives from major Korean companies, totaling over 50 participants. In addition, more than 80 students took part in the event.
On this day, Minister Abdelatty explained Egypt's geopolitical position and diplomatic role, and introduced the direction of Egypt's foreign policy amid the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East. He particularly emphasized that "addressing the various challenges facing the Middle East is connected not only to the diplomacy of individual countries, but also to the values of peace and stability that the international community must pursue together."

Finally, following the lecture, a Q&A session took place on recent changes in the Middle East, ways to expand Korea–Egypt cooperation, and measures to vitalize exchanges between the two countries.
