KNJ Completes Installation of Single Crystal Si Material Development Facility at Asan Site
KNJ has completed the installation of a 'Si Grower' facility at its Asan site for the development of silicon (Si) single crystal materials and plans to sequentially conduct related tests starting this month.
According to KNJ on June 9, the introduction of this facility has enabled the company to secure an initial development infrastructure for single crystal Si material growth tests and process condition verification. The Si Grower is a core facility that grows polysilicon feedstock into single crystal, large-diameter Si ingots.
KNJ plans to expand its business portfolio into the Si material and related components sector, leveraging its existing semiconductor process component manufacturing capabilities and precision machining and cleaning technologies. The company intends to proceed step by step throughout June with equipment stabilization, review of material growth conditions, subsequent processing, and quality evaluation.
