J.T. Poston (USA) experienced the joy of victory thanks to a clutch putt.
On June 6 (local time), at the Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72) in Dublin, Ohio, USA, he defeated Ryan Gerard (USA) after two playoff holes at the Memorial Tournament, a PGA Tour Signature Event with a total prize purse of $20 million. This marked his fourth career win and his first in one year and eight months since the Shriners Children's Open in October 2024. The winner's prize was $4 million (approximately 6.1 billion won).

By the 16th hole, he had lost one stroke and slipped down the leaderboard. The turning point came at the 17th hole (par 4). His tee shot went deep into the rough, forcing him to lay up short of a creek, but with his wedge shot, he landed the ball just 3.47 meters from the hole. Under intense psychological pressure, Poston managed a par save, then made a 2.29-meter birdie putt on the final 18th hole (par 4) to tie with Gerard.
In the first playoff held on the same hole, both players made par, leaving the outcome undecided. In the second playoff, again on the same hole, Poston saved par while Gerard missed his par putt, giving Poston the victory.
Poston had the TaylorMade Spider Tour X Torched putter in his caddie bag—a model optimized for moment of inertia (MOI) and center of gravity (CG). With this putter, renowned for its stability and forgiveness, he captured the title at a premier tournament.
