Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Riverside Concert with FKI: Featuring Seonwoo Yekwon and Kim Seohyun
June 13 at the Mulbit Stage Square in Yeouido Hangang Park
The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra will hold the "Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Riverside Concert" together with the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) at 7:30 p.m. on June 13 in the square in front of the Mulbit Stage at Yeouido Hangang Park.
The Riverside Concert is one of Seoul's signature cultural and artistic events, where citizens can freely enjoy classical music in the riverside breeze. It has been widely loved by the public every year. This year, in particular, world-class Korean performers active on the global stage will appear, thanks to the sponsorship of the Federation of Korean Industries, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary.
This concert will be conducted by Sunwook Kim, who recently drew attention for simultaneously conducting and playing piano at the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra's regular concert in May. Sunwook Kim will showcase the charm of open-air performances with a program centered on Wagner’s magnificent and grand works.

Pianist Seonwoo Yekwon, who has been performing worldwide since winning the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and violinist Kim Seohyun, who became the youngest ever winner of the Tibor Varga International Competition in Switzerland at the age of 14 in 2023, will appear on stage with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
Yoonju Shin, an announcer for KBS and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra’s PR ambassador, will serve as the host, helping audience members unfamiliar with classical music to enjoy the performance with ease and comfort.
The concert will open with the Prelude to Act 1 from Wagner’s opera "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg." This will be followed by Kim Seohyun performing the first and third movements of Korngold’s Violin Concerto. The Prelude to Act 1 of Wagner’s opera "Lohengrin" will add a mystical atmosphere to the early summer evening at the Han River.
In the latter half of the concert, Seonwoo Yekwon will perform Rachmaninoff’s "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini." The event will conclude with the overture to Wagner’s "Tannhäuser," and after the concert, fireworks will light up the night sky over the Han River.
