[Breaking] Baek Kyunghoon Says "Positive Talks with Jensen Huang on GTC Korea"
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Baek Kyunghoon announced on June 8 that Jensen Huang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NVIDIA, has shown a positive response to the possibility of holding the NVIDIA-hosted artificial intelligence (AI) and developer conference 'GTC' in Korea.
After meeting with CEO Huang on the same day at the Shilla Hotel Guesthouse in Jung-gu, Seoul, Deputy Prime Minister Baek told reporters, "We had a very positive discussion about GTC Korea with CEO Huang," adding, "From the perspective of building AI systems, CEO Huang is open to the idea of holding GTC in Korea."

CEO Huang also expressed his intention to strengthen investment in Korea's AI ecosystem. Deputy Prime Minister Baek said, "I told CEO Huang that Korea could become the largest purchaser of graphics processing units (GPUs)," adding, "NVIDIA has also agreed to invest in the AI ecosystem together with the Korean government."
