Youngwon Cho, Former Head of Ulsan Free Trade Zone, Appointed as New Vice President of Korea Gas Safety Corporation
The Korea Gas Safety Corporation announced on June 8 that it has appointed Youngwon Cho (57), former head of the Ulsan Free Trade Zone Management Office, as the new Vice President and Director of Planning and Management. The term of office is two years.

View original imageVice President Cho, who hails from Yeongyang, North Gyeongsang Province, graduated from Soongsil University and earned a master's degree in business administration from the Graduate School of Management Information at Korea University.
He began his public service career in 1993 and built experience in the energy and trade sectors, serving in key departments such as the Public Relations Office, Energy Safety Division, Overseas Investment Division, and Trade Remedy Policy Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

In his inaugural address on this day, Vice President Cho stated, "With the growth of national strategic industries such as semiconductors and the expansion of the hydrogen industry, the role and importance of gas are increasing further." He added, "As the agency responsible for gas safety, which protects the lives and safety of the public and leads the era of future energy, I will do my utmost to fulfill our responsibilities."
