The 2nd Comprehensive Special Inspection Team has launched a compulsory investigation into the residences of officials from the then Ministry of Planning and Budget (formerly the Ministry of Strategy and Finance) and the Presidential Office in connection with allegations of the illegal diversion of funds for the relocation of the presidential residence.

The Comprehensive Special Inspection Team is investigating allegations that, during the 2022 presidential residence relocation project, approximately 2.8 billion won from the budget of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety was illegally diverted to pay construction costs to "21gram," a company that was not qualified for the project. It is also reported that then-Presidential Secretary General Yun Jae-soon sent a text message to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety stating "Ministry of Strategy and Finance approval complete."
