Financial Supervisory Service to Hold Corporate Disclosure Seminar in Gwangju and Daejeon
The Financial Supervisory Service announced on June 9 that it will hold a "Traveling Corporate Disclosure Seminar" in Gwangju and Daejeon on June 23 and 24.
During this seminar, the Financial Supervisory Service will focus on explaining the key recent changes in the disclosure system in accordance with the amended Commercial Act, as well as examples of requests to correct securities registration statements. This is aimed at helping companies faithfully reflect the contents of the revised law in their management activities and disclosure processes.
Additionally, in order to enhance compliance among officers and employees of listed companies, the seminar will address frequent violations related to the short-swing profit recovery system, regulations on equity disclosure, the use of undisclosed information, and other unfair trading practices, along with related cases and measures.
The Financial Supervisory Service, together with the Korea Listed Companies Association and the Kosdaq Association, has been holding these seminars every year in six major hub cities for corporations required to submit business reports. Starting at the end of this month in Gwangju (Gwangju Bank) and Daejeon (Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry), additional seminars will be held in Busan and Daegu in the third quarter and in Seoul and Pangyo in the fourth quarter.
Not only personnel responsible for disclosure at listed companies but also those in charge at unlisted companies may attend the seminar. For those unable to attend in person, the Financial Supervisory Service will post the seminar materials on its website so they can be utilized for disclosure work.
