550 Marathoners Celebrate Health and Healing as Neoritjae Old Road Marathon in Hwasun Concludes Successfully

Marathoners set off with energetic strides along the blue forest paths of Hwasun in early summer.
On June 8, Hwasun-gun announced that the 11th Neoritjae Old Road Marathon, held on June 7 in the Neoritjae Old Road area, was successfully concluded with the participation of marathon enthusiasts and local residents from all over the country.
This year marked the 11th edition of the event, attracting more than 550 participants nationwide. Against the stunning natural backdrop of Neoritjae, they reflected on the meaning of health and challenge.

Participants chose from 8km, 16km, or 24km courses according to their fitness level and goals, taking on the challenge of completing the race. Running along the lush forest trails and breathing in the fresh air of the Neoritjae Old Road, they not only promoted their health but also shared the joy of finishing the race.
The Neoritjae Old Road, which connects Hwasun and Gwangju, is a historical and cultural route and is considered one of Hwasun’s premier healing destinations thanks to its beautiful natural scenery and pleasant walking environment. Recently, the creation of a barefoot walking trail has made it even more popular as a place where visitors can enjoy both health and relaxation.
