Six Major Economic Groups Welcome Han Sung-sook's Nomination: "The Right Person to Lead Innovation and Growth Together"
"A First-Generation Expert in Korea's IT Industry"
The business community has expressed its welcome for the nomination of Sung Han-sook, Minister of SMEs and Startups, as the new Prime Minister candidate.
On June 8, the six major economic organizations—the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Korean Industries, the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Federation of SMEs, the Korea Employers Federation, and the Korea Federation of Mid-sized Enterprises—issued a statement saying, "We regard this nomination as particularly meaningful, as the Prime Minister candidate is a former business leader who has been directly at the forefront of corporate management."
The organizations stated, "Candidate Han is a first-generation expert in Korea's information technology (IT) industry and, as the first female CEO of Naver since its founding, has driven the growth of our digital economy. She is a rare economic leader who has gained extensive experience in both the private sector and policy field, having served as president of the Korea Internet Corporations Association and as the inaugural Minister of SMEs and Startups in the current administration."

"Candidate Han is well-versed in the changes taking place at the industrial frontlines and, having directly led the digital and AI transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, is the right person to drive both innovation and growth," they emphasized.
