Supporting Everything from Strategy Development to Technology Validation and Service Implementation

EY Korea has established a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) organization to strengthen its AI competitiveness.

On June 8, EY Korea announced the launch of the "EY AI Center," a physical AI-dedicated organization for company-wide AI strategy implementation and technological capability enhancement. The company explained that, building on the virtually operated EY AI Hub, it has created a physical organization to oversee its enterprise-wide AI strategy, as a measure to reinforce its AI competitiveness.

The center is led by Suyeon Kim, Partner and former head of EY Consulting's AI business and EY Asia-Pacific AI Leader. Dr. Kim, who holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Seoul National University, is currently a member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' AI Expert Advisory Panel. She was recently appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for EY Asia-Pacific. Under her leadership, EY Korea has also recruited a large number of AI engineers.

The center will serve as a control tower, connecting and coordinating AI activities across all business units. It will collaborate closely with each business division, supporting everything from strategy development and proof-of-concept (PoC) testing to service deployment for AI business opportunities identified within each division. The center will also conduct advanced research and development in parallel.

It will also function as a global hub for leveraging AI assets, pursuing new collaborative opportunities such as partnering with EY Global’s physical AI research labs.

Yongkeun Park, CEO of EY Korea, stated, "With AI business opportunities expanding rapidly, there has been a growing need for an organization capable of not only facilitating collaboration among business units but also implementing company-wide initiatives and accelerating market response." He emphasized, "The launch of the EY AI Center is a strategic investment by the firm to further advance our collaboration framework, strengthen practical business execution and Go-to-Market (GTM) competitiveness, and establish an enterprise-wide execution foundation."

Suyeon Kim, Head of the EY AI Center, commented, "Beyond generative AI, AI agents and physical AI will reshape industrial structures. The EY AI Center will proactively validate core technologies and enhance EY Korea's AI competitiveness through global collaboration and technology implementation."
