KWEN Selects 25 Promising Companies for "Femtech Industry Fostering Program"
Business Support Funds Provided for Clinical Trials, Demonstrations, and Intellectual Property Acquisition
Twenty-five promising K-femtech companies, including those developing devices to standardize infertility treatment procedures and illegal filming detection devices, have been selected as the finalists to revolutionize women's lives.
The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association (KWEN) announced on June 8 that it has selected the companies to receive support under the "Femtech Industry Fostering Program" and will begin full-scale assistance.
This program, supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and organized by KWEN, aims to discover and nurture companies with technologies, products, and services that contribute to improving women's health and quality of life. A total of 298 companies applied, resulting in a competition rate of 12 to 1. The final selection was made after a thorough review by experts from various fields.
The selected companies will leverage support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KWEN to advance their business models and actively pursue market entry and sales channels.
The competition recognized practical technologies that enhance medical accessibility, such as devices standardizing infertility procedures and home-based vaginal health diagnostic systems. Solutions addressing women's daily anxieties and inconveniences were also included, such as AI-powered pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting platforms, as well as devices that detect the risk of illegal filming.
KWEN plans to use business support funds to back pilot clinical trials, demonstrations, intellectual property acquisition, and marketing efforts. In addition, various programs for market expansion will be provided, including participation in overseas exhibitions, global investor relations, and venture capital (VC) matching.
