Hanon Systems Keri Plant in US Holds Ceremony to Celebrate Ford's Top 'Q1 Certification'
Q1 Certification Achieved at 27 Global Sites
Meeting Rigorous Standards in Quality, Delivery, and Manufacturing Capability
Hanon Systems announced on June 8 that it held an official ceremony to commemorate its Keri plant in Ohio, USA acquiring the 'Q1 Certification,' Ford Motor Company’s highest quality designation, earlier this year.
With the certification of the Keri plant, Hanon Systems has now achieved Ford Q1 Certification at a total of 27 plants located at major sites around the world. This demonstrates the company’s robust quality management system and manufacturing capabilities across all global regions, including Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and China.
For the ceremony, representatives from Ford Motor Company visited the Keri plant in person to present the certification plaque and Q1 flag. The event was attended by members of Ford’s Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) team, local leadership from the Americas and the Keri plant, and other employees, who gathered to celebrate the achievement. A commemorative luncheon was also held for on-site staff.
Ford’s Q1 Certification is the automaker’s highest-level supplier designation mark, awarded only to outstanding production plants that achieve excellence in all areas, including quality, delivery, and manufacturing capability. Companies that receive this certification are recognized as reliable partners who meet Ford’s rigorous manufacturing standards.
To maintain Q1 Certification, a company must achieve a comprehensive score of 85 points or higher on core performance indicators such as quality performance, manufacturing capability, warranty, and delivery, as well as meet strong operational system and environmental standards. Certified partners are granted priority supplier status in future Ford business bids, providing opportunities for long-term partnerships.
Brian Trudeau, Executive Vice President in charge of the Americas Business Group at Hanon Systems, stated, "In the automotive industry, Ford Q1 is an honorable symbol representing quality excellence, manufacturing competitiveness, and customer satisfaction. This certification is a testament to the dedication of the Keri plant employees who worked tirelessly to meet customer requirements and standards."
Ho Seok Sung, plant manager at the Keri facility, commented, "The Keri plant values Ford as a key partner for continued growth. We will fly the Q1 flag with pride, as it symbolizes our commitment to Ford, and we will continue to focus on continuous improvement to provide the best service to our customers."
