View original imageHanil Holdings announced on June 8 that it held a "Sponsorship Agreement Ceremony for the Construction of the Yonsei University Advanced Physics Research Center" at the main building of Yonsei University's Sinchon Campus in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
Hanil Holdings, which has Hanil Cement as a subsidiary, plans to provide construction materials, including ready-mixed concrete, worth approximately 300 million KRW for the construction of the research center. The research center, which Yonsei University is currently working to establish, will be an education and research facility with four floors above ground and three underground levels, offering a space for future scholars to devote themselves to advanced physics research, including quantum physics.
Hanil Holdings has maintained ties with Yonsei University for over 40 years through the Wudeok Foundation, which is sponsored by Chairman Heo Giho. The Wudeok Foundation has contributed a total of 2.5 billion KRW to nurturing talent, providing 2.3 billion KRW in scholarships to more than 400 Yonsei University students and 180 million KRW in research grants to date.
