Kakao Ventures Makes Seed Investment in AI-Based Longevity Startup "Tab Zero"
From Data Measurement to Behavioral Change
Combining HRV and AI Nutrition Analysis
Building a Personal Digital Twin
Kakao Ventures has expanded its healthcare portfolio by investing in an artificial intelligence (AI)-based longevity startup that aims to extend healthy life expectancy through wrist-based biometric data. Longevity, in this context, refers not only to living longer but also to maintaining physical and mental health—a lifestyle and industry focused on extending the period of life spent in good health.
According to Kakao Ventures on June 8, Tab Zero is building a "Personal Digital Twin" solution that integrates and analyzes individuals' biometric data to suggest optimal health intervention points. The company is led by serial entrepreneur Kim Taeho, who has experience with successful mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and exits in Silicon Valley.
Currently, Tab Zero operates the HRV-based biological age tracking app "HRV Works" and the AI-powered nutrition analysis app "Fasting Works." HRV Works analyzes HRV data measured by wearable devices to provide daily recovery scores and personalized behavioral guidance. The app combines resting heart rate and sleep quality to calculate biological age and track the pace of aging. Fasting Works is a service that automatically analyzes nutritional components from a single photo of a meal.
Tab Zero plans to go beyond simple data visualization by leveraging ontology-based digital twin technology. By integrating and analyzing various life log data—such as sleep, activity, blood glucose, and HRV—the company aims to estimate health changes based on causal relationships and set a new standard in the longevity market. Starting with this investment, Tab Zero will focus on improving AI analytical accuracy, advancing on-device AI capabilities, and global expansion, including entry into the North American market.
CEO Kim Taeho stated, "We will design daily actions through wrist-based data and grow into a platform that extends each individual's healthy lifespan. Our goal is to create the first mainstream entry point in longevity so that anyone can become the person who knows their own body best."

Jang Dongwook, Executive Director at Kakao Ventures, explained the investment by saying, "Blood glucose spikes changed what we eat, and slow aging changed how we eat. Now, it’s time for HRV to change our entire day. CEO Kim Taeho is the right person to solve this problem, as he has collected more sleep, nutrition, and exercise data than anyone else and applied it to his own life."
