Seongbuk District in Seoul (Mayor Seungro Lee) hosted the 18th Seongbuk World Food Festival Nurimasil on June 7 around the Seongbuk-ro area.

View original imageThis year’s Nurimasil saw embassies from a record 26 countries participate, offering traditional foods and cultural experiences from around the world. The opening parade, “Find the Secret of Taste!”, featured dancing gimbap ingredients, chef characters, contemporary circus acts, b-boys, and dance performances, captivating the audience.
The World Food Chef Booths attracted a steady stream of visitors eager to sample signature dishes from various countries. Experiences such as traditional attire from around the world, global games, and cultural diversity programs were also popular with families.
All food booths used reusable containers and operated under a food price ceiling (no more than 8,000 won), enhancing both eco-friendliness and accessibility. The newly introduced QR code-based ordering and payment system was praised for improving visitor convenience. At the Seongbukcheon Fountain Maru event space, which was newly operated this year, a giant character balloon photo zone and DJ performances were provided.
