Choi Wook Says "Ilbe Should Be Crushed by Tanks"... Lee Junseok Calls on President Lee
Maebul Show Host: "Ilbe Should Be Crushed by Tanks"
Lee Junseok: "If You Have Consistency and Conscience, Do Not Overlook This"
Choi Wook, host of the YouTube channel 'Maebul Show,' sparked controversy after saying that the far-right online community 'Ilbe' (Ilgan Best Storage) "should be crushed by tanks," prompting criticism from Lee Junseok, leader of the Reform New Party.
On June 6, Lee posted on Facebook, sharing a video clip from the previous day's Maebul Show in which Choi stated that 'Ilbe should be crushed by tanks.' Addressing President Lee Jaemyung, Lee remarked, "If you have consistency and conscience, this is something you should not overlook."

He continued, "As they move into the mainstream, these people, in their own way, deeply idolize Chun Doo-hwan," and insisted, "At least when it comes to online crimes, they should be crushed by tanks."
Jung Junhee, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Information Society and Media at Hanyang University ERICA, who appeared on the broadcast together, targeted some among the 20s and 30s generation, saying, "They lack structure. Their thinking has no system," and added, "They are not a group that has built a solid philosophy or set of values." He continued, "It is necessary to take up a club in a lawful manner," and agreed with Choi's view, stating, "Rather than persuading them rationally, they must be subdued by power."

Lee stated, "When remarks like 'crush them with tanks like Chun Doo-hwan' are made, the president should speak out and ruling party politicians should be calling for boycotts and expulsion." He further noted, "People may have different sensitivities to the word 'tank'." He said, "For some, it may evoke painful memories of May in Gwangju, while for others, it may simply pass by as a meme without any emotional resonance," and once again targeted President Lee and the ruling party, emphasizing, "But there must be consistency."
