KT to Host World Cup Street Viewing Event at Gwanghwamun, Live Broadcast on Giant Media Walls

KT, the official partner of the South Korean national soccer team, will host a '2026 World Cup' street viewing event with the Red Devils and the Korea Football Association at Gwanghwamun Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Provided by KT.
View original imageKT, the official partner of the South Korea national football team, announced on June 7 that it will host a '2026 World Cup' street viewing event and customer benefit promotion at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, together with the Red Devils and the Korea Football Association.
The street viewing event will take place three times, on June 12, 19, and 25, in line with the qualifying match schedule. KT will partner with JTBC, the official World Cup broadcaster in Korea, to provide live broadcasts of the matches on two large media walls installed at the KT Gwanghwamun Building West.
At the event site, support messages and videos submitted by citizens both online and offline will be displayed on the media walls. The collected support messages will also be delivered to the national football team players preparing for the matches in Mexico. On the day of each event, there will be a pre-performance of World Cup cheer songs as well as interactive experience booths.
Additionally, to celebrate the World Cup, KT has prepared a 'Cheer Up, Full of Benefits' promotion running until July 19. During the promotion period, customers who visit KT stores nationwide will receive World Cup cheering merchandise featuring images of the national football team, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers who leave support messages using the QR code inside the store will have a chance to win the latest smartphones, such as the Galaxy S26, through a lucky draw.
