During the broadcast, Mayor Shin first stated, "This victory is not my personal achievement, but a victory for the citizens of Seongnam," attributing the success of his reelection to the people of Seongnam.
Mayor Shin expressed his gratitude by saying, "I believe the citizens have recognized the efforts I have made for them over the past four years, even giving up weekends. The fact that the changes made in citizens' daily lives have been acknowledged is my greatest happiness and reward."
In fact, Mayor Shin cited "strengthening communication with citizens" as the most meaningful accomplishment of his previous term. Seongnam City established the "Suggestions to the Mayor" text message channel for administrative inquiries and created a dedicated team to promptly respond to citizens' voices. Mayor Shin stressed, "To date, more than 80,000 civil complaints have been received, and the response rate has reached 98%," emphasizing that the citizen-centered administrative system has been significantly enhanced.
Mayor Shin declared that the top priorities for city administration going forward would be the "swift implementation of redevelopment and reconstruction projects" and "alleviating citizens' burdens."
He elaborated, "Redevelopment and reconstruction are sensitive and crucial issues directly tied to residents' property rights. We will minimize residents' financial contributions and drastically accelerate the pace of project implementation," presenting a concrete direction for these initiatives.
Regarding the overall increase in tax burdens stemming from recent rises in real estate prices, he also pledged, "We will actively pursue measures to reduce the increased property tax resulting from higher real estate values to ease the tax burden on citizens."
In addition, Mayor Shin highlighted "End-of-life Home Care" as a key project he wishes to accomplish during his term, alongside redevelopment and reconstruction.
