In his congratulatory remarks, Chairman Bae Jeongsu mentioned this year's World Environment Day theme, "Climate Action," stating, "The Earth is constantly sending out warning signals through heat waves, heavy rainfall, droughts, and wildfires," and added, "Responding to these warnings begins right in our daily lives."
He further emphasized, "Protecting Hwaseong's precious natural resources, such as the West Coast tidal flats and Bibong Wetland Park, is not a grand task, but rather something achieved through small, everyday actions that are mindful of the environment."
He also stated, "There is no environment without people. Environmental destruction starts with people, but restoring the environment is also the work of people." He continued, "In the face of the climate crisis, the most dangerous attitude is indifference, but the most powerful hope comes from action."
