Cultural Heritage Administration to Offer 800 Free 3D Assets and Traditional Pattern Data

The Cultural Heritage Administration will make over 800 digital source assets freely available starting June 8, including 545 3D assets of national heritage and 262 traditional pattern data sets. These resources will be released through the National Heritage Digital Service website, as well as global platforms such as Fab and Unity.
The released data includes cultural heritage assets such as Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, and the Kim Myung-gwan Historic House, as well as geological heritage data for sites like the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune in Taean and the Billemot Cave in Eoeum-ri, Jeju.
Since 2022, the Cultural Heritage Administration has released approximately 1,900 3D assets and traditional pattern data. With this new release, the total number of open resources will reach some 2,700.

These assets are expected to be widely utilized in emerging industries such as gaming, video production, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twins. They are also anticipated to serve as authentic learning materials for national heritage, helping to prevent the use of distorted data in training.
