LG Electronics Urges Climate Change Action on Outdoor Billboards in the US and UK
World Environment Day Video Screened on Billboards
LG Electronics is conducting activities around the world to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection. On outdoor electronic billboards operated at landmarks in New York and London, a video is being screened to urge participation in addressing climate change. In domestic and overseas business sites, various activities such as river clean-ups and coral planting are also being carried out with the participation of employees.
On June 7, LG Electronics announced that, until June 13 (local time), videos produced by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for World Environment Day (June 5) will be screened on outdoor electronic billboards operated in Times Square, New York, USA, and Piccadilly Circus, London, UK.
The video raises awareness of climate change by showing scenes of wildfires, heatwaves, and shrinking glaciers, and introduces efforts to address climate change, such as the transition to renewable energy and forest restoration. It delivers the message: "Now is the time for climate action (#NowForClimate)."
