Kim Gyuri Home Invasion Robbery Suspect Committed Crime While on Trial for Stalking Seo Dongju
Stalking and Trespassing Charges Against Seo Dongju
Indicted and On Trial
Arrest Warrant Denied, Suspect Commits Another Crime While Not in Custody
It has come to light that the man in his 40s, who was arrested on charges of breaking into actress Kim Gyuri's home and committing robbery, was already on trial for stalking and trespassing against broadcaster Seo Dongju.
On June 5, MBN exclusively reported that Lim, who was detained on charges of robbery causing injury, had been indicted earlier this year for attempting to trespass into Seo Dongju's home and for repeatedly contacting her, thereby committing stalking offenses. At the time, Lim reportedly called Seo Dongju multiple times and tried to break into her home, but was apprehended by the police.
In response, the police requested an arrest warrant for Lim on charges of trespassing and stalking, along with a provisional measure No. 4 that would allow his detention in a holding cell. However, the court did not approve these measures. As a result, Lim was tried without being detained and went on to commit another crime.

The victims took advantage of a lapse in Lim's surveillance to escape the house and asked a passerby for help. The police, who received the report, began tracking Lim. He surrendered himself to the police in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, about three hours after the crime. During the incident, Kim Gyuri and her housemate suffered injuries such as fractures and bruises.
During the investigation, Lim reportedly told the police that he had identified Kim Gyuri's home by watching YouTube and broadcast videos.
Kim Gyuri's home had been featured on an entertainment program in 2022. During the broadcast, the structure of the house, including the hanok courtyard, numaru (wooden floor), studio, and garden, was introduced in relatively detailed fashion.
The police are focusing their investigation on whether Lim had identified the home's location in advance via broadcast and online videos and whether he planned the crime accordingly.
The Seoul Central District Court conducted a pre-arrest interrogation (warrant review) on May 22 and subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Lim.
