On the evening of June 5, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, appeared before reporters while dining at the samgyeopsal restaurant "Hyeongnim Jeoyo" near Hongdae Entrance Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul, announcing NVIDIA's plans for full-fledged technological cooperation with Korea.
According to the NVIDIA careers website on the same day, NVIDIA recently posted a job opening for a Physical AI Solution Architect under the 'AI Technology Center,' with the place of work specified as Seoul, Korea.
The recruitment fields are digital twin and robotics. The role involves collaborating on physical AI technology with key partner researchers at universities and joint research institutes. As a trusted technology advisor, the position will be responsible for a variety of projects and proof-of-concept (PoC) assignments related to physical AI.
Specifically, the work includes supporting Korean university and corporate researchers in building virtual worlds using the OpenUSD-based NVIDIA Omniverse platform, generating synthetic data with the NVIDIA Cosmos model, testing robots with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, and fine-tuning and deploying Open Humanoid Foundation Models.
The qualifications required include a Ph.D. in a related field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics, and more than five years of practical experience in digital twin and robotics. Outstanding academic achievements, experience in collaboration across academia, industry, and government, and experience using the NVIDIA Jetson platform are listed as preferred qualifications.

View original imageOn this day, CEO Huang personally announced that a technology center for AI research engineers and robotics research is being established in Korea. He said, "Korea is going to be really, really busy," adding, "You will be working with all my colleagues who are currently being hired."
He further explained, "The reason I came to Korea is because business is booming," and likened it to a "PC bomb," saying, "Business is thriving and Korea is doing extremely well." He continued, "My partners in Korea are very important to me," and added, "That is why I came here to thank them, to celebrate together, and to celebrate an incredible year."
He also announced that NVIDIA has launched four new products this week: Vera Rubin, Vera CPU (central processing unit), RTX Spark, and Jetson Thor. Previously, NVIDIA hosted 'GTC Taipei 2026' in Taiwan from June 1 to 4, where these announcements were made.
He went on to say that NVIDIA has formed a major partnership with Hyundai Motor Group in the field of robotics and is also collaborating with LG, SK hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Naver. CEO Huang repeatedly emphasized, "I am truly happy that the Korean economy is doing so well," and added, "Korea has provided tremendous support to me and my company for a long time."
When asked, "What is the big gift for Korea?" he replied by referencing the four new business lines NVIDIA has announced. By mentioning AI server CPUs, next-generation AI supercomputing platforms, personal AI workstations, and AI computers for humanoids and robots, he signaled full-scale collaboration with Korea in all these future growth areas.
On this day, CEO Huang recalled that NVIDIA was originally a company specializing in GeForce graphics cards for PC gaming, and explained that his first activity during this visit to Korea was to visit a PC cafe run by the esports team T1. He asked, "Do you know Faker (Lee Sanghyeok)?" and praised him as "an unbelievably amazing player."
He also remarked, "GeForce customers in Korea have been friends for 25 years," adding, "That is why Korea is always very close to my heart."

Around 7 p.m. that day, CEO Huang, Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, and Lee Hae-jin, Chairman of the Board of Naver, gathered at the restaurant to begin a dinner meeting featuring samgyeopsal, soju, and beer. There is keen interest in what specific business collaboration plans regarding AI, robotics, and AI factories were discussed following their meeting.
