A female hiker in her 60s was found dead near the summit of Hiyangsan in Mungyeong City, Gyeongbuk Province.

View original imageAccording to the police and fire authorities on June 5, a report was received around 9 a.m. that day near the summit of Hiyangsan in Gaeun-eup, Mungyeong City, stating, "A person appears to have fallen and lost consciousness while climbing a section that requires holding onto a rope."
Upon receiving the report, firefighters who were dispatched to the scene found Ms. A, who had already developed postmortem rigidity. The rescue team used a mountain stretcher to move Ms. A to a nearby open area and then transferred her to a police helicopter.
It was reported that Ms. A had gone hiking alone. No evidence of criminal activity has been identified so far.
