View original imageOn the morning of June 5, Mayor Shin greeted senior officials and employees at Seongnam City Hall's Nuri Hall, marking his return to work and expressing appreciation to public servants who had ensured stable municipal administration during his absence. Earlier, the vice mayor, heads of departments, bureaus, and divisions, as well as district mayors, welcomed Mayor Shin at the City Hall plaza.
Following this, Mayor Shin received briefings from the vice mayor and relevant officials on key municipal issues and the status of ongoing work that had been advanced during the election period. He also reviewed the progress of major policy projects and issues affecting citizens' livelihoods.
Mayor Shin stated, "I sincerely thank all public servants who, even in the absence of the mayor during the election period, steadfastly maintained their positions, upheld the core of municipal administration, and filled any gaps. Thanks to your efforts, citizens were able to trust and feel assured about the city's governance."
He continued, "Today marks the first day of Seongnam's new future with my return. During the election period, I heard from many citizens in the field. I took the time to deeply reflect and learn about the inconveniences citizens experience in their everyday lives, what they need, and the areas in which the city must pay closer attention."
Mayor Shin especially emphasized the importance of stabilizing citizens' livelihoods. He said, "I once again keenly felt that many citizens, particularly those in vulnerable circumstances, are leading difficult lives. With a heartfelt commitment to support each and every person facing hardship, I will prioritize livelihood issues and strive to bring about changes that citizens can truly feel."
He added, "In line with this grave responsibility, I intend to immediately address issues related to citizens' livelihoods. As I take the lead and do my utmost, I ask all employees to devote yourselves wholeheartedly to your respective duties with a renewed sense of commitment."
