With this selection, Chung-Ang University will participate in industry-academic consortiums with companies and universities over the next three years and nine months to conduct research and education in the field of generative AI. Each of the three selected consortiums will receive a total of 8.2 billion won in government support, aiming to develop core technologies focused on industrial applications and foster practical AI talent.

The research team led by Professor Mucheol Kim from the School of Software will participate as a joint research and development institution in a consortium led by PersonaAI, a generative AI solutions company, together with Gachon University and Korea University. The team will develop and demonstrate real-time context-adaptive generative AI technology applicable to high-reliability industries such as disaster safety and smart healthcare.

In addition, the AI Graduate School research team led by Professor Jongwon Choi from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science will participate as a joint research and development institution in a consortium led by PIASPACE, a company specializing in AI video analysis, along with Sejong University, Yonsei University, and Hanyang University. This consortium aims to develop a generative AI platform based on a lightweight multimodal model (sLMM) that can be used in on-premises environments, as well as to train practical generative AI professionals.

The research team led by Professor Dahin Jung from the Department of AI at Chung-Ang University will participate in a consortium led by Synapsoft, an enterprise document AI company, together with Kookmin University and Ewha Womans University. This team will focus on developing high-reliability corporate disclosure data analysis technology based on integrated multimodal embedding.

Through this project, Chung-Ang University plans to lead next-generation core technology research in generative AI and accelerate the training of global AI talent based on a practical, industry-focused education system.
