U.S. Secretary of State Meets Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Condemns Iran's Airport Attack
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the 4th (local time) to discuss the situation related to the Iran war.
According to the State Department, Secretary Rubio held talks with Minister Al-Sabah at the State Department in Washington, D.C., where he reaffirmed the United States' firm commitment to Kuwait's security, to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, and to maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Secretary Rubio also condemned Iran's "unjust and unacceptable attacks" targeting Kuwait International Airport and other locations in Kuwait. In addition, the State Department said he expressed condolences to those killed or injured in the attacks and pledged solidarity with the people of Kuwait during this difficult time.

Earlier, Kuwaiti authorities announced that Iran had attacked Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, resulting in one death and the suspension of flight operations. However, Iran's state-run broadcaster, representing the Iranian government's position, claimed that Iranian forces did not attack Kuwait Airport.
