Mayor Oh arrived at Seoul City Hall at around 10:35 a.m. and greeted the press at the main entrance. Bowing at a 90-degree angle, he began by saying, "I would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Seoul for giving me another four years to serve."
He said, "I am returning to work right away. I will immediately address the backlog of work from the past 40 days," adding that the first matter to be dealt with would be the issue of missing rebar at Samsung Station.
He continued, "If it weren't for the election campaign, the operation would have started in mid-August as agreed with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, but the safety issue became excessively politicized," and added, "I will review whether the operation can proceed as originally planned."
Finally, he pledged to fulfill his promise to make Seoul a city where citizens feel proud and experience rapid improvements in their quality of life.
On this day, around 200 city employees gathered in the first-floor lobby of City Hall to congratulate Mayor Oh on his election victory, presenting him with bouquets and welcoming his return to work.
Mayor-elect Oh shared his thoughts, saying, "There is nothing more disheartening than receiving a poor evaluation from the colleagues I work with," and added, "I am grateful for your warm cheers. It makes me as happy as the election victory itself."
He also asked, "Please unite your hearts so that I can faithfully keep my promise to work together and make Seoul an even warmer and healthier city."
With a smile on his face, Mayor-elect Oh waved with both hands in response to the employees and entered his office.

Throughout various opinion polls, exit polls, and even during the vote counting process, he was trailing behind Jeong Won-oh, the Democratic Party candidate, but after a neck-and-neck race, he ultimately won by a margin of about 45,000 votes (with 98.86% of the votes counted) on the morning of June 4.
As of 11:00 a.m. on June 4, according to the National Election Commission, Oh received 49.08% of the votes, while Jeong received 48.20%.
